More Spaces, More Possibilities
'Mauritshuis building for the future' is an ambitious expansion project. The emphasis is on improving the museum's visitor facilities, with the aim of creating a complete museum experience that responds to the needs and wishes of the twenty-first century.
More space means more possibilities. Young visitors will have their own education suite, where, in view of the public, they can become more familiar with art through play.
An auditorium will offer space for events such as presentations, film screenings, conferences, debates and official receptions. A new exhibition space will offer more flexibility for temporary exhibitions. The museum café and shop will be completely restyled. The Mauritshuis staff, who run the museum from behind the scenes, will also have more space on site.
